Pension Plan Administrator

My firm has a client in Downtown Denver is in need of an manager to join their Corporate HR Department who comes with strong experience managing employee retirement benefit plans. The position will report directly to the VP of HR and will work closely with other Senior business leaders.

This is a very hands on Administrator position that will be handling all aspects of pension plans for the company. A candidate is needed who brings not only the strategic perspective to work with senior management but also enjoys and is interested in working with all of the particulars that will be required to support the entire company.

Requirements of the Position:

5-7 years of solid experience with the administration of defined contribution and defined benefit plans -Strong understanding of ERISA, COBRA, OWBPA, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and other regulatory requirements -Knowledge of 401k, deferred compensation, restricted stock options as well as experience filing 5500's

The position is paying a base salary of $70-90K and my client is looking to interview qualified candidates as soon as possible.

Account Executive, Retirement Services
Provide strategic planning and consulting advice to assigned accounts. Assist in marketing and evaluating proposals for clients and prospects; identify new business opportunities in the market and among existing clients; build and maintain strong client and carrier relationships; may supervise work of Account Managers and Account Administrators within the practice.

Duties: Develop mutually beneficial relationships with investment and recordkeeping vendors (insurance companies, mutual fund companies, and administrators) to generate optimum results for clients in terms of their overall retirement plan program.

Provide proactive service to clients. This will include regularly scheduled meetings to review Lockton services, vendor services, investments, plan design, and expenses, etc.

Manage the process for marketing and evaluating retirement plan proposals for both new and existing clients. Analyze proposals, develop appropriate recommendations, and draft executive summary.

Prepare and conduct investment analysis for clients on a quarterly, semiannual, or annual basis (as determined by the Producer).

Resolve administrative problems between the client and vendor(s); identify and resolve compliance issues.

Attend and facilitate client meetings.

Review on a monthly basis the Revenue by Client report. Ensure commissions due for all clients are paid on a timely basis.

Provide appropriate training and development for Account Managers and assist in the training of Account Administrators.

Complete meeting minutes and follow-up on action items (with Producers and for Account Managers) after client meetings.

Assume ultimate responsibility for accuracy of all client work and overall satisfaction of client.

Hold employee education meetings.

Has ultimate responsibility for the accuracy of work processed by the Account Manager and Account Administrator and others, or performing tasks not assigned to the AA/AM.

Prepare executive summaries, written correspondence, reports, and analyses as needed.

Interface with top management of other businesses, representing Lockton to the highest professional manner.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related program, or equivalent experience in the retirement services industry required.

Minimum of five years’ retirement plan industry experience preferred.

NASD Series 6, 7, and 63 licenses preferred.

Current insurance license or the ability to obtain immediately required.

Must have working knowledge of laws affecting retirement plans.

Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.

Must have strong customer skills, along with the ability to develop sound client relationships with multiple clients.

Ability to prepare and present client presentations with clarity and understanding required.

Ability to conduct informative and educational employee meetings required.

Strong mathematical aptitude required.

Above-average verbal, written, and interpersonal skills required.

Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines required.

Demonstrated professional, tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives required.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft and stay more than one day and night required.

Must have a willingness to expand knowledge and effectiveness in the retirement services industry by successful completion of extended insurance education beyond continuing education requirements for licensing. Lockton offers excellent benefits and a competitive Salary.
